Prof Dr ( Col ) CDS Katoch is alumnus of Government Medical College, Jammu and joined Army Medical corps in 1987. He belongs to a small town, Khaira- Palampur of Himachal Pradesh popularly known as mini Indian Switzerland and DEV Bhoomi. He has a small family of two sons and wife Dr (Major) Mrs Shashi Katoch (Retd) is a Dental Surgeon. He post graduated in Internal Medicine in 1997 from Delhi University and then superspecialised in Pulmonary Medicine in 2005 from Pune University. He is Undergraduate and Postgraduate teacher in Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine. He is examiner and assessor of National Board of Examination. He has guided dozens of National and International postgraduate medical students at Armed Forces Medical College Pune. He has many national and international publications to his credit. He has exposure of various appointments in civil and army adding to his vast experience.

His association with people of different attitudes and attributes during his service exposure itself speaks volumes of his human approach of his conduct. He has always adopted a humane approach while dealing with medical and administrative issues. Its this approach which makes Prof Katoch very popular among his students and patients.

Prof CDS Katoch superannuated from Army Medical Corps in July 2020 after 34 years of glorious service. He was Prof and Head of Department of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep medicine at Army Institute of Cardiothoracic Sciences, AFMC Pune. As a clinician, bed side skills and Pulmonary Interventions are very close to his heart and he has a passion for Research and Academics. Prof Dr CDS Katoch is a member of various national and International professional organizations and is reviewer of many professional journals.
